Una delle caratteristiche più belle di questa professione è che può essere svolta davvero in tantissimi ambiti.
Può lavorare in televisione, in teatro oppure può sviluppare coreografie nel mondo del cinema o per spot pubblicitari, inoltre, questi sono solo alcuni degli sbocchi.
Ora che conosciamo meglio questo artista, andiamo a esaminare le mansioni che caratterizzano questa professione.
1. Quali sono i compiti del coreografo
Il compito più importante del coreografo è quello di realizzare una coreografia da far eseguire ai propri ballerini che sia in grado di piacere e trasmettere emozioni a chi la osserva.
Tutto ciò necessita di grande preparazione, infatti, la prima cosa che il coreografo fa è cercare di adattare la performance in base a quelle che sono le caratteristiche dei ballerini.
A questo si aggiunge la musica che deve essere coordinata con lo spettacolo che si sta preparando, considerando il contesto e la tipologia di pubblico al quale verrà presentata la performance.
In tutto ciò, il coreografo deve considerare anche lo spazio disponibile per lo show e adattare, quindi, la coreografia alle dimensioni della scena nel quale avverrà l’esibizione.
Tra gli altri compiti del coreografo abbiamo la scelta dei ballerini, infatti, la sua decisione durante la scelta del cast ha sempre un certo peso.
Una volta eseguiti i provini e scelti i componenti del cast, sarà compito di quest’ultimo istruire i ballerini in base alla coreografia che si intende rappresentare.
Durante questa fase abbastanza delicata, il coreografo può anche decidere di apportare eventuali modifiche alla coreografia di base, riadattandola come meglio crede.
In altre parole, in questa fase il coreografo ha il ruolo di un insegnante di ballo che cerca di istruire i propri allievi cercando di migliorarne i movimenti e la tecnica.
Infine, il coreografo organizza lunghe riunioni con il resto dello staff, per concordare costumi, scene e ciò che occorre sistemare per la riuscita dello spettacolo.
Volendo riassumere il tutto, potremmo sintetizzare le mansioni del coreografo in:
- Insegnare tecniche e interpretazioni a singoli individui o a gruppi, sia principianti che professionisti
- Preparare coreografie lavorando sotto la supervisione del regista
- Selezionare attraverso i casting ballerini, attori per musical, balletti e tutto ciò che ha a che fare con la danza
- Sviluppare e interpretare idee trasformandole in veri e propri show
- Lavorare a stretto contatto con il resto dello staff affinché le coreografie sia coordinate a tutte le altre parti dello spettacolo
- Programmare e supervisionare le prove
- Verificare la praticità dei costumi di scena
- Eseguire ricerche per avere nuove idee per le coreografie
E questi sono i principali compiti che un bravo coreografo è tenuto a svolgere. Ora che sappiamo cosa fa, vediamo quanto guadagna questo artista.
2. Quanto guadagna il coreografo
Lo stipendio del coreografo tende a essere abbastanza variabile, questo in particolare, a causa dell’esperienza e del contesto in cui si trova a lavorare.
Un coreografo che lavora presso una grande compagnia guadagnerà molto di più rispetto a un coreografo di una piccola compagnia locale.
Fatta questa doverosa premessa, vediamo in termini numerici di che cifre stiamo parlando.
Un coreografo molto noto con tanta esperienza, può arrivare a guadagnare davvero tanto, si parla di cifre che arrivano persino a 150000 euro l’anno.
Per coreografi “normali” la media degli stipendi è un po’ più bassa.
Un professionista con un po’ di anni d’esperienza alle spalle, si porta a casa uno stipendio intorno ai 30000 euro l’anno.
In generale, lo stipendio parte da una base di circa 20000 euro l’anno, fino ad arrivare in media, a un massimo di 46000 euro l’anno.
Ciò significa che un coreografo è in grado di portarsi a casa mensilmente qualcosa come 3000-4000 euro, cifre niente male ma in linea con quelle che sono le responsabilità di questo lavoro.
Queste cifre vanno prese con le pinze, infatti, non tutti riescono a raggiungere tali somme, molti arrivano a percepire la metà o addirittura meno.
Nonostante questo, quelle che vi abbiamo riportato sono le cifre percepite da questa figura secondo gli ultimi dati.
Andiamo adesso a scoprire cosa è necessario fare per poter diventare coreografo.
3. Come diventare coreografo
Di solito la professione del coreografo è la naturale evoluzione del ciclo di vita del ballerino che, una volta terminato il suo percorso come ballerino, decide di intraprendere la carriera di coreografo.
Non occorrono, quindi, specifici titoli di studio per fare il coreografo, è sufficiente infatti la terza media ma, come per altre professioni, anche questa è soggetta a costante aggiornamento per rimanere al passo con le novità.
Esistono, comunque, numerose scuole di danza che offrono corsi di coreografia, consigliati per specializzarsi nel settore e apprendere nozioni che saranno utili nel ramo.
Esistono persino dei corsi di laurea che permettono di abbracciare questa professione come ad esempio la laurea triennale per coreografi.
In ogni caso, la strada migliore per diventare coreografo è cominciare come ballerino, imparando il mestiere e vivendo di persona ciò che si insegnerà.
