Il mondo dello spettacolo è decisamente ampio e lo stesso si può dire per il numero di mestieri che si porta dietro.
Con questa piccola premessa, in questo articolo andremo ad analizzare, come probabilmente avrete già intuito, un lavoro particolarmente legato con questo ambiente, in grado, però, di trovare spazio un po’ ovunque di questi tempi, parliamo, dunque, del musicista, un professionista capace di trasformare momenti di ordinaria routine in veri e propri frammenti di vita indimenticabili.
La musica, come tutti sappiamo, è ovunque. Dai teatri alla televisione, dal cinema alle pubblicità, essa è davvero ovunque e, grazie alle nuove frontiere digitali, è entrata nella vita di tutti.
Basti pensare a piattaforme come Youtube o Spotify che hanno permesso a chiunque di portare sempre con sé la propria musica preferita, potendo scegliere tra un mare immenso di brani realizzati da altrettanti diversi musicisti.
Insomma, una professione spesso troppo sottovalutata vista la sua enorme connessione con la vita di tutti i giorni.
Detto questo, andiamo a scoprire meglio i segreti che si nascondono dietro questi professionisti e le loro carriere.
1. Quali sono i compiti del musicista
Prima di cominciare ad elencare i compiti del musicista, ci sembra doveroso sfatare uno dei più grandi miti che da sempre accompagna questo settore, ossia, il fatto che il musicista abbia solo il compito suonare il proprio strumento e niente di più.
Niente di più falso!
Già, nonostante questo sia sicuramente uno dei compiti più importanti, esso è responsabile anche di altri compiti che stiamo per andare a esaminare.
Per iniziare, il lavoro del musicista opera in diversi scenari, non è soltanto la superstar che voi tutti immaginate, intenta a compiere le proprie esibizioni da solo o in compagnia della propria band sui palcoscenici di tutto il mondo.
Infatti, questa professione può essere svolta, oltre che nei concerti, anche in festival musicali, in orchestre, in piccoli locali o persino come insegnante di musica.
Diciamo che, in base alla fama del musicista cambia anche l’importanza dei luoghi di esibizione.
Naturalmente, in questo articolo non andremo ad esaminare solamente il musicista superstar, bensì andremo a concentrarci sulla professione in generale, così da poter capire e comprendere tutti gli aspetti di questo lavoro.
Tornando a parlare dei compiti, quello principale in questa professione è sicuramente l’esecuzione di brani, sia propri che di altri artisti (basti pensare alle cover bands che si esibiscono attraverso brani di altri compositori, delle volte, anche riadattandoli al proprio stile) sia esso un musicista solista oppure facente parte di una band.
Si aggiunge anche la responsabilità di partecipare a casting e provini, che gli permetteranno di esibirsi nei migliori eventi, facendogli guadagnare fama per arrivare poi ai livelli più alti.
Ogni musicista che si rispetti deve prestare molta attenzione alla pulizia, alla cura e alla manutenzione generale dei propri strumenti.
Pensate a cosa potrebbe accadere in un concerto se l’attrezzatura del musicista non fosse in buone condizioni.
Inoltre, non è raro che il musicista stesso sia il responsabile dell’intero show, ciò significa che sarà compito suo cercare di allestire lo spettacolo al meglio, attraverso arrangiamenti propri e soluzioni sceniche innovative, capaci di lasciare il pubblico di stucco.
Dato che abbiamo deciso di esaminare questo mestiere da un punto di vista generale, è giusto aggiungere che, oltre ai compiti di tipo artistico, il musicista si ritrova ad avere anche delle responsabilità di tipo manageriale del proprio lavoro.
Sarà compito suo l’aspetto promozionale del lavoro, come per esempio la realizzazione di un demo con all’interno tutti i brani più significativi che il musicista, in seguito, deciderà di proporre nei suoi live.
Oppure, nel caso di musicisti meno famosi, un altro compito sarà la ricerca di un ingaggio all’interno di pub, locali e quant’altro, così da potersi creare un proprio pubblico e poter espandere la propria fama e le proprie conoscenze in questo ambiente.
Detto ciò, possiamo concludere con quelli che sono i compiti del musicista.
Volendo riassumere, in breve, quelle che sono le mansioni del musicista, potremmo dire che tra i suoi incarichi troviamo:
- L’esecuzione di brani, siano essi di propria inventiva o scritti da altri artisti
- Partecipare a casting, provini e tutto ciò che può permettergli di esibirsi nei maggiori spettacoli
- Pulizia, cura e manutenzione dei propri strumenti
- Allestimento dello spettacolo attraverso l’arrangiamento dei brani e soluzioni sceniche di grande impatto
- Promuovere i propri brani
- Cercare ingaggi all’interno dei locali e non solo
Ecco, questo è, in breve, ciò che un musicista deve fare all’interno del suo ambiente.
Il prossimo punto che andiamo ad analizzare riguarda i compensi percepiti da questa figura.
2. Quanto guadagna un musicista
Esattamente come per qualunque altro tipo di lavoro, dare delle cifre precise è difficile dato che i fattori in gioco sono sempre tanti.
Basti pensare che all’interno di un orchestra, gli stipendi dei diversi strumentisti possono variare notevolmente gli uni dagli altri.
In generale, quello del musicista è un mestiere che affronta diverse problematiche che incidono parecchio sul compenso finale.
Ai primi posti troviamo sicuramente i download illegali che permettono di scaricare brani senza uscire un soldo (e queste sono tutte mancate entrate per il musicista e non solo).
A questa si aggiunge la difficoltà, per un musicista, di reperire un ingaggio o un contratto a lungo termine.
Parlando di cifre, troviamo un compenso che si aggira sui 100 euro a serata per quanto riguarda i musicisti di piano bar che, dopo qualche serata, riescono anche a strappare un contratto per l’intera stagione.
Per le band i compensi si alzano, toccando cifre che oscillano tra i 175 e i 500 euro per i locali di maggiore successo.
Diverso è il discorso per quei musicisti che riescono ad andare in tour con grandi artisti. Lì la paga comincia a diventare davvero generosa oltre ad avere tutte le spese pagate.
Altra possibilità di guadagno sono le lezioni di musica sia private che all’interno delle scuole. Solitamente, in questi casi le cifre si aggirano tra i 15 e i 30 euro all’ora.
Dovendo tirare delle somme, secondo gli ultimi dati INPS un musicista guadagna in media dai 1500 ai 2200 euro al mese.
Tenete presente che si sta parlando di media, infatti, persino i musicisti più quotati si ritrovano, spesso, in periodi di totale buio dove il lavoro è poco o addirittura nulla.
Nonostante le difficoltà, quella del musicista è una professione in grado di regalare grandi emozioni, motivo per cui, se siete interessati a intraprendere questa strada, vi consiglio fortemente di continuare la lettura.
3. Come si diventa musicisti
Una volta qualcuno disse: “Le vie del Signore sono infinite”. Bene, diciamo che un discorso simile lo si può fare anche per quanto riguarda la carriera del musicista.
La prima via è l’iscrizione a un liceo musicale coreutico, nel quale vi insegneranno la storia della musica, la teoria e l’utilizzo di uno o più strumenti musicali.
Nel caso non foste più in tempo per il liceo, la seconda via è l’iscrizione al conservatorio, preferibilmente a indirizzo esecutivo per cantanti o musicisti.
Esattamente come per il liceo, anche al conservatorio verranno insegnate tutte le conoscenze necessarie per intraprendere questa carriera.
Inoltre, all’interno del conservatorio, sarà possibile acquisire i diplomi di primo e di secondo livello corrispondenti rispettivamente alla laurea triennale e magistrale all’interno delle università.
Queste sono le vie più quotate ma, come detto all’inizio, le possibilità sono tante.
Basti pensare a quanti artisti sono stati notati per la loro immensa bravura mentre si esibivano in piazze o stazioni ferroviarie davanti ai passanti (basti pensare a Ed Sheeran che adesso è una delle più grandi star dell’ambiente musicale).
Questo fa capire come anche con un pizzico di fortuna, se si ha talento, è possibile entrare in questo ambiente e raggiungere grandi risultati.
