La pratica di tatuarsi il corpo è sempre esistita fin dai tempi più antichi, ma solo dal 98, ossia da quando il lavoro del tatuatore (detto anche tattoo artist) venne ufficializzata in Italia questa è diventata una vera è propria professione.

A oggi, la richiesta di tatuaggi è cresciuta in maniera esponenziale e continua a crescere costantemente sia fra i giovani che fra i meno giovani.

Lo scopo di questo articolo sarà proprio quello di far conoscere al meglio questa professione, dando particolare spazio ad aspetti come guadagni, compiti e, nel caso qualcuno fosse interessato, anche le strade per intraprendere la carriera del tatuatore.

Partiamo dunque col capire quali sono tutti i compiti che un tatuatore deve saper svolgere.

1. Quali sono le mansioni del tatuatore?

Spesso capita che il cliente abbia già scelto il tatuaggio ma, se non dovesse essere così il primo compito del tatuatore è quello di aiutare l’acquirente nella scelta mostrandogli il proprio artwork a catalogo (un raccoglitore nel quale sono racchiusi tutti i lavoro del tattoo artist) o nel caso avesse già una mezza idea, proporgli qualche schizzo fino al raggiungimento finale del progetto.

Una volta scelta l’opera da tatuare, il tatuatore ha il compito di spiegare tutta la procedura che verrà eseguita rispondendo ad eventuali domande o perplessità, avvisando il cliente su eventuali rischi che potrebbero incombere come ad esempio possibili allergie.

Fatto ciò, si passa alla preparazione dell’intero ambiente di lavoro. Questa fase è molto delicata, essendo a contatto diretto con la pelle e lavorando su più persone, è fondamentale che tutto sia pulito e igienizzato.

Una volta messi i guanti in lattice monouso si può finalmente passare all’azione. In base alla zona del corpo interessata il primo compito del tatuatore è quello di radere il punto su cui dovrà essere fatto il tatuaggio.

Una volta tolti peli o capelli si passa alla pulizia della pelle tramite l’utilizzo di detergenti antibatterici, così da rendere la superficie pulita e disinfettata.

La preparazione è terminata, adesso è il momento di passare il tatuaggio dal foglio alla pelle. Altra cosa molto importante per ogni tatuatore che si rispetti è comprendere emozioni ed esigenze del cliente.

Se durante l’esecuzione del tatuaggio il cliente dovesse provare eccessivo dolore (magari dovuto alla zona particolare scelta per il tatuaggio) è compito del tattoo artist quello di capire le reazioni del cliente e, nell’evenienza, fermarsi per aiutarlo a recuperare.

Non sempre è sufficiente una sola seduta. Se il tatuaggio scelto è di grandi dimensioni, il tatuatore dovrà decidere il numero di sedute necessarie e informare il cliente, così da rendere il lavoro più agevole per entrambi.

Una volta ultimato il tatuaggio, bisognerà informare il cliente sul post tattoo, ossia guidarlo sulla gestione e sulla cura del tatuaggio, per evitare spiacevoli imprevisti.

Questi sono i principali compiti di ogni tatuatore. Vediamo adesso a quanto ammontano i guadagni di questi artisti.

2. Quanto guadagna un tatuatore?

Come per qualunque altra professione, è doveroso fare prima una premessa. I guadagni, per ogni tipologia di mestiere, variano a seconda di numerosi fattori.

Per una professione come questa la cosa più importante è senza dubbio il numero di clienti. Più saranno i clienti che andranno da questo professionista e maggiori saranno i guadagni che avrà.

Ma questo non è l’ unico fattore, infatti la stessa posizione geografica può giocare un ruolo chiave e non solo. Ad esempio, un tatuatore situato al centro di una grande città avrà certamente maggiori possibilità di attirare clienti, specie se dimostra di essere bravo nel suo lavoro, rispetto a uno che magari si trova leggermente fuori città.

Inoltre, ogni tatuatore sceglie il proprio tariffario perciò anche questo influenzerà i guadagni di questo professionista.

La cosa più importante, come per qualunque altra professione, rimane comunque quella di saper fare il proprio mestiere, infatti solo così sarete in grado di attirare clienti nella vostra attività.

Detto questo, è arrivato il momento di passare alle cose concrete e di vedere quindi qualche cifra.

Secondo i dati, gli stipendi dei vari tatuatori differiscono non poco gli uni dagli altri.

Le stime dicono che un tattoo artist principiante percepisce circa 650 euro mensili, rispetto agli oltre 4000 mila di un veterano con fama ed esperienza.

In media lo stipendio si aggira sui 1400 euro mensili ma vi ricordo che ciò varia anche in base alla città.

A Milano ad esempio, lo stipendio annuale sembrerebbe essere sui 25000 mila euro annuali per uno già affermato. Per i novellini invece, la somma arriva ad oscillare tra i 14000 e i 16000 mila euro annui.

Sul tariffario, nonostante venga stabilito dal tatuatore stesso, possiamo dirvi che solitamente per un tattoo di piccole dimensione il costo è sui 100 euro, mentre un tattoo grande quanto tutta la schiena può arrivare a costare anche migliaia di euro.

Per concludere la parte inerente ai guadagni del tatuatore, diciamo che i criteri su cui si basano i prezzi sono solitamente:

  • Qualità
  • Premi ricevuti
  • Esperienza
  • Posizione geografica

Se questa è la strada che volete seguire, andiamo a vedere come si fa a diventare tatuatore.

3. Come diventare tatuatore

Per intraprendere questo tipo di professione non esiste un corso di studi specifico. Nonostante ciò, è possibile intraprendere diverse strade che è possibile percorrere per poter diventare tatuatore.

Quella che da uno sbocco più sicuro per poter diventare tatuatore rimane comunque quella di frequentare un corso che rilasci un relativo attestato di frequenza come tatuatore e operatore piercing.

Attraverso questi corsi di formazione regionali vi sarà possibile apprendere tutto ciò che è importante sapere a livello teorico (e non solo) su questo tipo di lavoro.

Ciò che vi possiamo dire su questa tipologia di corsi è che solitamente hanno una durata di circa 90 ore che vengono suddivise fra la pratica e la teoria, così da poter fornire ai candidati una visione quanto più completa possibile.

Se siete curiosi di conoscere il costo di questi corsi, sappiate che il prezzo va dai 1500 ai 1800 fino a raggiungere i 2000 euro.

Il costo potrebbe sembrare elevato ma considerate che comunque è necessario possedere un attestato di frequenza a questi corsi per poter fare il tatuatore, non basta la semplice passione, e inoltre vi verranno fornite tutte le conoscenze necessarie per poter entrare in contatto con la pelle del cliente.

Un consiglio che possiamo darvi se il vostro sogno è quello di intraprendere questa carriera è di frequentare una scuola a indirizzo artistico, un’accademia di belle arti o un corso di design grafico e illustrazione che vi fornirà delle buone conoscenze su aspetti tecnici, igienici, di sicurezza e anche sulla pratica, con relativo esame finale che, se superato vi permetterà di ottenere il diploma.

Per concludere, come ben saprete questo mestiere è per lo più pratico perciò è molto importante esercitarsi se si vuol essere un buon tattoo artist.

Per questo vogliamo dirvi (nel caso non ne foste a conoscenza) che esistono dei kit tattoo che vi permetteranno di fare pratica su tessuti molto simili alla pelle, così da rendere il tutto quanto più reale possibile.
