Il mestiere del verniciatore viene spesso sottovalutato, infatti, molti credono che basti prendere un pennello, un rullo o una pistola a spruzzo per diventare automaticamente un verniciatore.

Quello che invece molti non sanno è che il verniciatore è un vero e proprio esperto del mondo delle vernici, delle resine, dei rivestimenti e degli smalti.

Dietro questo mestiere si nasconde un mondo, infatti, un verniciatore qualificato conosce tutte le diverse tipologie di pittura (in polvere, ad acqua, al solvente, ecc) ciò che le caratterizza (lucentezza, adesione, colore, durabilità, corrosione, ecc) e gli strumenti e i metodi con il quale vengono applicate (per immersione, a pennello, a spruzzo, a spray, ecc).

Insomma, a quanto pare non è sufficiente avere in mano un rullo per potersi definire verniciatori.

Detto questo, andiamo a vedere quelle che sono le mansioni principali di un verniciatore qualificato.

1. Quali sono i compiti di un verniciatore

Il primo compito del verniciatore è quello di preparare l’oggetto che dovrà essere verniciato.

Potrebbe dover essere necessario pulirlo, smontarlo da ulteriori componenti o anche proteggere eventuali parti che non devono essere lavorate.

Quindi, una volta esaminato il pezzo, si passa alla preparazione del materiale tramite la miscelazione delle vernici e la preparazione degli strumenti di lavoro.

Una volta preparato il tutto, si passa alla verniciatura vera e propria, andando ad applicare il numero di strati necessari per quell’opera.

Alla fase della verniciatura seguiranno poi, la fase di essiccatura, di rifinitura di eventuali parti e, in fine, la fase del controllo qualità una volta terminato l’oggetto.

Nel caso di un verniciatore che opera anche attraverso macchinari autorizzati, tra i suoi compiti ci sarà anche quello di impostare i parametri di lavorazione della macchina, nonché il corretto posizionamento del pezzo da verniciare, caricare la macchina con le miscele necessarie e supervisionare l’intero operato.

Una volta terminato il lavoro della macchina, sarà suo compito quello di valutare il risultato e, se dovesse essere necessario, completare l’opera attraverso decorazioni manuali o piccole rifiniture.

Volendo riassumere i compiti del verniciatore, in sintesi potremmo dire che le sue mansioni sono:

  • Visionare lo spazio da verniciare
  • Valutare e scegliere il tipo di materiali, vernici e metodi di lavorazione per la superficie da verniciare
  • Preparare l’area da verniciare
  • Preparare e miscelare vernici e le altre sostanze da applicare facendo attenzione alle caratteristiche che si vuole ottenere
  • Applicare le vernici ed eventuali elementi di decorazione
  • Controllare e, all’occorrenza, rifinire il lavoro a mano
  • Controllare la qualità del prodotto finale
  • Eseguire la manutenzione di macchinari e attrezzi

Ora che sappiamo quali sono i doveri di un verniciatore, scopriamo a quanto corrisponde il suo stipendio.

2. Quanto guadagna un verniciatore

Solitamente il verniciatore è un professionista che lavora alle dipendenze di piccole, medie o grandi imprese, inserito all’interno di gruppi di lavoro, alle dirette dipendenze di un superiore.

Lo stipendio, varia a seconda dell’esperienza e del contesto in cui è inserito (un verniciatore di una grande azienda guadagnerà certamente di più rispetto a un verniciatore all’interno di una piccola azienda).

In media, comunque, la paga di questo professionista si assesta poco al di sopra dei 1400 euro mensili.

Tenete presente che questo è lo stipendio medio percepito dal verniciatore, ciò significa che per i novellini la paga sarà nettamente più bassa mentre, per coloro che lavorano da anni nell’ambiente, lo stipendio può arrivare a cifre ben più elevate.

Passiamo, in fine, all’ultimo aspetto di questa professione, ossia il percorso formativo necessario che porta a intraprendere questo tipo di carriera.

3. Come si diventa verniciatore

Come titolo di studio, per diventare verniciatore è sufficiente possedere la licenza di scuola dell’obbligo.

Per questa professione, invece, molto importante è l’esperienza che si è acquisita sul campo, infatti, nonostante buona parte dei verniciatori sia in possesso di un diploma, ciò che realmente viene cercato dai datori di lavoro sono le competenze acquisite con la pratica.

Nonostante ciò, è importante che un buon verniciatore abbiamo delle nozioni meccaniche per conoscere e riuscire a utilizzare i macchinari e i diversi strumenti.

Inoltre, è fondamentale una buona conoscenza delle vernici e delle loro caratteristiche oltre a sapere quali sono le normative sulla sicurezza (considerando che si è a contatto con materiali con diversi gradi di tossicità) e su come si utilizzano i dispositivi di protezione individuale.

Insomma, è necessario comunque avere un discreto pacchetto di conoscenze alle spalle.

In ogni caso, la via più rapida per accedere a questo tipo di professione è frequentare un corso di formazione professionale.
